EARTH DAY

EARTH DAY
2013

She silenced the world for five minutes. LISTEN TO HER!

An estimated one billion people around the world mark Earth Day each April 22, making this environmental celebration one of the largest civic observances on the planet. At its hub is the Earth Day Network, the not-for-profit organization that launched the first Earth Day in 1970 and has helped promote the event ever since. This year's theme is "The Face of Climate Change." As VOA's Rosanne Skirble reports, the campaign harnesses the Internet and social media to create a worldwide digital display of people, places and wildlife that have been affected by climate change. Join others on EARTH DAY each and every year to make personal commitments to do your share to protect the mother who sustains our life on earth. Our ONLY hope is that the public will be made aware of this serious threat to human sustainability. It will take EVERYONE on earth to make this happen, to avoid a global collapse for future generations. Please do your part. Start a blog. Post on this blog. Write to friends on Facebook. Tell friends at work. Stop this downward spiral, keep the seas clean, find alternative energy solutions, be the change you want to see in the world. Thank you for your support!
